Best kill/loot to date, but bugged or hacked??

Long time reader, finally posting.

I was at NWA last night on a darker server.  The previous night I had been wandering around and found a heli crash to the SW of NWA if I remember correctly and found a FN-FAL AN/PVS.  Now, I had had one, once before.. making the mistake of ditching my M14 AIM for it.  I thought it’d be fun to try a dark server with it and see how bad it is for getting around.  I logged out for the night, and hopped on a dark server the next night.

It wasn’t all that easy to use for getting around, but I wasn’t far from the Barracks, so I carefully approached the SW building from the runway side as I find that if you’re going to get ambushed, you’re less likely to get surprised when coming from that side.

As I crept up to the building, getting to within about 1 meter from the backside, I heard flies.. I froze and saw movement in one of the rooms.. obviously a survivor.  My heart rate instantly spiked and I quickly backed away, then ran to the tree line to an observation point about 30 meters away.  I backed up until I had a  little bit of tree cover behind me and I could see the entire building in the FN-FAL scope.  I kept it shouldered while I waited.. I knew being a dark server, the guy could have had NVGs, so I wasn’t sure if I should bail.. or stick it out.

The excitement got the best of me and as I took the gun off my shoulder (dumb) and the light adjusted, I thought I saw movement.  I shouldered it again and clearly saw him crouch running away from the building and directly towards me!  He panned around a bit and ran to the trees right along the runway, shouldering up his AS50 to check the hangars I’m sure.

I took that opportunity to make my move and I put a couple rounds into him.. I was surprised that I killed him that easily really.  I don’t know, I expected him to turn and blow my head off lol.  I was so wound up aiming, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to hit him at all! Lol

So it took me a few mins to find his body after running around a bit to ditch the zeds that came running.. and I was granted with an early xmas present!

This guy was nearly fully kitted out.. he had an AS50, NVG, Rangefinder, GPS and a machine gun.  I quickly grabbed the NVG and Rangefinder as I had never seen them in game before, along with the GPS.  I didn’t realize at first that the NVG and Rangefinder occupied the same inventory spot so after a little confusion, I got them into my inventory/pack, along with the GPS and machine gun.  With the NVG, the FN-FAL AN/PVS was no longer needed. J

I dropped both my guns so I could pick up the machine gun and AS50.  I grabbed his machine gun, then opened my inventory to move it to my bag.

When I re-opened his inventory and pack.. I could NOT, absolutely NOT loot anything.

I couldn’t get his AS50 out of his pack nor move anything else.. very odd.

If I closed inventory and moused over his body, I did not have the option to take his pack either.  I’m SURE I have seen that before.. a week prior I looted a coyote pack off a body (lost it later).   Everything I tried failed to work.  I tried to move things to his inventory, along with DC’ing and trying again.

 

Anyone see this issue before?  I figured If he was hacking somehow he’d have a Ghillie and L85.. he had EVERYTHING else!

 

Anyway.. It’s the first time I had any of that stuff, I’m pretty stoked!  I ended up running north of NWA to get away from people and found another heli site.. picked up a M14 AIM and MP5SD.  Now to fight the urge to stay away from people to cling to the NVGs.. lol

I think my best loot was some three tasty M107 from tents, ghillie suits, NVG's and a crapton of ammunition. Also had a lot of AR's but didnt really need em.

From a legit kill? I have found quite a few NVG's from my kills. They are always nice to find! Oh and picked up a Coyote backpack once too.

I usally get banages and painkillers from killing fresh spawns.

Sometimes they got food, but eh.

Sickest gear i got from a kill was easily the gps,as50, alice pack, stocked with food and water. along with all sorts of tools. He must've been the storehouse for his clan.
