Interesting thoughts on hunting/farming animals.

Recommended Posts

Before I send this off to the suggestion forums I wanted to get some feedback seeing that there are a lot more people on here.

What I'm trying to accomplish is a few small details that add depth to the game, but don't make it overly complicated or annoying (like skill trees or running stamina would).

Farming animals:

You can feed farm animals (dey luv dem bEanZ) to fatten them up to increase the amount of meat you gain when you gut them. OR, we can go literal and the fat will give more flavor to the meat you gain and improve the blood amount you regen.

The fattening effect can be put on a reasonable timer (say five minutes) which makes it both an advantage to protect or a target to take out if you are on the other side.

Hunting animals:

The hunter can only hunt in the forests (edge of treelines count). They must remain hidden and unheard for a certain amount of time (averages) to increase the chances of prey spawning a ways away and running by (prey will only despawn if it is impossibly far away).

Also, the rarer the animal, the more blood that meat will regen.

There are actually a ton of members who watch the suggestions forum, including most active members who hold weight. Rocket checks there for suggestions, not here.

Anyway, as it is a cow already gives up more meat than most people can carry by themselves along with they're other goods, so I don't see how fattening them up is necessarily needed. I often find a goat near a cow, ect, as well.

I think it'd be cool to have animals that roam, but the forest trigger might be difficult and unnecessary.
