Immune System deficiency [PortuPlague?]

I strongly believe my character's immune system is useless.

First time I got infected, it was when a zombie right hooked me in the face, I stayed infected until I was killed by a player later on during my antibiotics hunt.

Second time, again from a zombie, I managed to find anti-biotics.

THIRD time, after taking the antibiotics I went to meet my friends but got attacked on my way to Stary Sobor, and I don't know just how, but the guy there managed to give me the infection despite only being alive for 4 seconds after meeting me. Had this for the longest time, friend raided a camp and got another pack of them. Cured!

FOURTH time, again from being roundhouse kicked by a Zed, and I'm gonna go and find another pair of antibiotics.

Is my character just useless or is the 'very low' chance actually somewhere close to 99% for me?

After travelling well over ten hours with three different people, every one of my friends are completely infection free.

How?!
