Noise (DayZ) 40 Posted August 6, 2012 I was in a firehouse minding my own business, taking some sweet sweet loot. Look down the stairs and I see a player crawling, he hears me and guns it out of the firehouse (attracting zombies on his way). Needless to say, I could feel my heart beating fast almost instantly, the fact that I knew he had a gun and was actively shooting scared me shitless, especially when he came storming back inside. I had two zeds spawn next to me once, so I booked it around a house attempting to break their line of sight on me around a corner .. Yeah, turned the corner and there's two guys with guns crouched next to eachother. At that point I'm like, "Really!?" Fortunately they didn't notice right away, and the hail of bullets I heard while running my ass off were intended for the zombies I believe. I wasn't hit at all. I shot his mate and he came for me with such speed that I noticed him only as he came appeared on the stairs below me and ducked to cover out of my view. I fucking ran. Virfortis 111 Posted August 6, 2012 I have yet to experience any heart pounding except for my first day. After that, the magic of the game was lost. With everyone being a hostile, I don't feel strained anymore with wondering if someone's friendly, I know they're not. Also, I've got so much winchester ammo that zombies are an annoyware at best, an annoyance which I can avoid by just staying in the woods. It's not like I need anything anymore, camping out near a lake and watching the bandit groups come back and forth. They occasionally make water runs near where I'm camped, but I don't mind because they don't care, because they can easily just bring their chopper in and pickup anyone that dies.
