Leaderboards - possible additions?

Recommended Posts

Leaderboard are great, nothing like competition/epeen. Obviously these are alpha leaderboards and could possiblly give more information later in development.

A suggestion I have, is for the top 10 ALIVE Murderers, to include additional info, like weapon of choice, or current server from save file, or active/inactive status (though I can maybe see this leading to logon traps). The same could go for the Top 10 Bandit Killers. Being a top 10 most wanted, you're going to have some additional heat.

Seems like it's giving players even MORE of a reason to mindlessly kill each other, "Who gives a shit about supplies? It's all about that homepage cred' bro".

Valid point, not very realistic I understand. Consider a group of players who enjoy hunting bandits, but not just any bandits, the ones that you are talking about. Maybe those players would call that fun.

Oh it has nothing to do with me thinking whether or not it's "fun", to be honest I don't even own ARMA-II let alone have a PC that can run it - But after a day or so on these forums I find myself debating if I really even want to repair it for a PC version of RE:ORC ((Team Deathmatch with a side of Zombies/Objectives)). It seems like something worth just skipping over, I'd rather -Not- spend money on this game than get spawn killed by some ass with a military grade sniper for beans and pistol ammo with their only excuse being "OH people are serial killers in real life!". Yes, people are serial killers in real life - But 1/10th the population of a city are NOT serial killers. Even serial killers don't pick off random people, they have motive - They don't go "Oh joe schmo is over there, I'ma saw his head off because I'm bored" (Just watch the movie Se7en).

Now you can skip my post after the point that I say "I don't even have ARMA", but if someone who doesn't even own the game can point out flaws and fixes then you have no real reason to.

Be it something as simple as adding a rule of not killing anyone with a lower-calibur weapon ((Aka, Mr. Hunting Rifle can't go kill Mr. Newguy for his Makarov and Beans that he could easily find on a ten-fifteen minute scavange from what it sounds like)Of course self-defense would play a factor, along with the "I heard gunshots, I thought ___ was shooting at me so I killed him." misunderstandings - But it would really separate those who are killing for Gear and survival, and those who are killing just to kill.)

Again, judge the post as you will but I'd appreciate something better than what I imagine will be "You don't even play" or "It's a prime part of the game!" - Sorry, but with all the shit I've seen - If I ever do get this game, I assume as soon as I spawn I should kill every single player I see at spawn until they quit the server and I assume it's safe - OH and I get all dat thar loot. If anything this is an extreme paranoia simulator seeing as you instantly want to kill anyone else who logically would team up.. Again, just my two cents as a simple observer of the mod.
