Do I really have to sit through 5 minutes of load screens and 3 minutes of creating a character just to go back to another 15 minutes of loading just to play?

depends on your computer. so, yes.

This problem only appears if you are trying to join a very full ( Like 40/50 ) Server or a Server with an bad ping. Just try some servers with maybe 10-30 players. You will see it will be alot faster etc. ;)

Shouldn't depend on my computer very much at all considering i can run games with graphics and view distances almost 2x this and it loads perfectly fine
