L85 AWS or M4A3 CCO

Recommended Posts

I have an AS50 in my Alice backpack and currently have an L85 AWS in my gear and a M4A3 CCO in my tent, as I play solo I will have to abandon the tent and move on.

Which weapon should I keep the M4A3 CCO or the L85 AWS, the M4A3 is awesome but the L85 gives me great advantage over other player and gives me targets to snipe with my sniper...which one should I keep ?

I'd say the M4. Though thermal is great, the gun in itself isn't.

I would go with L85 - it has thermal/nightvision, it has that laser pointer, and it is decent for up to 250-300m. It is great for scouting.

I'd keep the L85 if you intend to be a sniper. The thermal scope is a priceless advantage.

Another thing you might consider is that you could fit the L85 and a 2nd rifle in a Coyote backpack, just make sure they both use Stanag so you only need half the ammo space.

take the l85 if you run into someone you can spray from the hip and kill them instantly if theyre too far for hip spray let them pass or sjnipe them when they get far..

or snipe them with the l85 and they will probably alt f4

the l85 will give you much more cover as you can scout area's quickly for heat signatures before moving on, it oneshots zombies and 2/3shots players.

abandon the m4a3 inside your tent and stick with the l85, the m4a3 is only needed in close combat situations if you play pve but for survivabilty it simply isnot as good as the l85

anyone preffering the m4a3 above the l85 is simply retarded in my eyes

L85 is great for spotting people but that is about it, in close quarters I prefer the m4 as the L85 has a slight zoom and always in either nv or thermal, both are also just as effective out to 300 m4 just abit harder to aim at that distance.

He's packing an AS50 and an L85, if he ends up in a close-quarters battle he has already failed. If you want him to plan for failure he might as well get rid of the AS50 and keep both the ARs. ;)

Pretty ignorant to say that. It depends more on play style. If OP is almost explicity a sniper, then the L85 would be the better choice. If he actively engages in city PvP, then the M4 will prove more valuable.

2-shot zombies, 4-shot players. Single headshot for either.

As far as sniping goes, the L85 can give you the ability to find hidden targets, as well as sniper-hunters at night. They have the advantage if you are solo, as even a single round will give away your position down to 100 square meters. They WILL find you eventually if they are nearby. The L85 allows you to see them as they grid out and search for you. Many will take a long time, as patience is a mainstay. Sure, some might run at you with a hatchet, and in that case an M4A3 will be a better option with more close-range support with the sights. The L85 will have issues doing the same thing.

Since you are alone, it is best to weigh pros and cons. We will compare.

M4A3: You get flashlight, possibly better recoil control, and better close-range to mid-range sights. You can not spot hidden targets, nor make accurate hits past 300 meters often.

L85: You get thermal, which allows you to spot people in day or night settings, as well as find hidden snipers. Due to the sight, it is not recommended for use at close ranges, and doesn't do well past 300 meters.

Both weapons take atleast 4 rounds to down a player, use the same ammo, and take up the same space. I would take the L85 for the unique advantages (thermal), but if you have even 1 friend to team up with, you should hand them the L85 and stick with the M4A3 yourself.

I was murdered by a supermarket door last week. I had an M4A1 Camo SD equipped and an L85A2 AWS in my pack. When I returned to my body the M4A1 Camo SD was gone. 1 water bottle and a morphine injector were also looted.

I don't even know!

I guess I will stick with the L85 AWS since I have no need to go into the big cities, in the smaller ones like Polana I would scout it first with the thermal...no zombies no player and I get my soda cans for the day. I am getting practice with the L85 in the shooting range mod if I master it I will be able to fight in close-quarters....when I am in a pvp situation the thermal can find me some targets for my AS50.

It´s all about the close-quarter situations and how you deal with them the 3D servers will give me a slight advantage since I will be able to fire from the hip if I find a guy hidding next to me in the middle of the woods :)

the l85 is pretty easy to master in close combat, aim with the midle of your screen before zooming, tap shoot once before aiming, aim and tap once more and you have a sure kill, this is how i used it to kill zombies chasing me,

if caught offguard by a player simply switch on full auto and spray it in there direction

also dont walk around with 3rth person, it limits your ability to quickly aim

L85 i'd say, You can scout the whole landscape really quickly before going anywhere to make sure there is no snipers, as well as towns for any bandits / players just you can just hipfire under the 50m mark and easily kill most people and past that you should have time to switch to your as 50 to get a quick 1 shot. Too bad you don't have coyote backpack since they share ammo : /
