Devil`s castle base

I was just thinking, it would be cool if who ever takes Devil`s castle or other castles could maybe build defences around it, or maybe trade mountain dew or food there to buy items to defend it.

just silly thinking i guess :)

I have done this before, at Zub. I put tank traps, barbed wire, and sandbags around it to form defenses, each in respective areas. It worked. I would go deerstand checking, and the loot would come back in the castle. I survived a long time just like this.

i enjoy useing locations somewere on map with structure and makeing base out of it with Wire/tank traps/sand traps. O.o but problem is now that my tents/traps and defenses dispear after each server restart so i am discourage of doing it anymore....

I wish they fixed it at least for tents not dispearing with the loot

That sounds fun also, but does any one ever go there?

would be great if the castle were more worthy of you defending them?.

You need a nice size group to hold down that bad boy, But great idea. You would need a few snipers and spotters then guys to hold down the fort ( lol ) Would be a nice place to setup camp/park your vehicles ect. Just one problem with Zombies spawning all around you.

Maybe you could repair the walls of the castle if you capture it

The only problem with any kind of fortification mechanic is that one could just switch servers, walk in, then switch back and kill you from behind.

with devil's castle all you need is 2 sniper and 1-2 people in the tower. Zombies spawn around and in devil castle but they dont spawn in tower... so they actually are like "Guard Dogs"

that why it be awesome if servers were not connected. and that Each server has to start their new character. Sort of like minecraft those it.

People cant destroy economy/bring in weapons or search for items on different servers and than bring it over to the new server.

Also this destroys hackers from hacking on other private servers and bring it to hack-free servers. This also stops alot of duping practices, because the character is shared between servers.

This would also lead to people staying on 1-2 servers at max. which is what the developer wants to do, so that people change servers less, and loot from other servers. (but i think re-spawn on items should be faster cause certain things like tents are very small chance of spawning in grocery stores)

It would be nice if characters start out with 1 tent, that lets the players make that as their spawn point, or choice to respawn randomly along the coast.

also, mabey they would spawn random around the map if they switch servers.

factory is much nicer, although easier to be attacked by snipers i looks more comfier if it could be repairable or fortified with those bricks

As I said in a previous thread regarding the idea of chracters being server specific:

This would have quite a few problems with it.

One of Dayz selling points is that you don't have to track down a server you've been playing on to play on your character.

If a server changes names, closes down, or is offline for hours you can just hop on another server and play on your character.

There's also the added stress to the servers caused by the extra information they have to store.

Finally, this would give other players(those who have access to the server data) the ability to change player data.

Server admins could give themselves weapons by changing their character data, completely bypassing the need for hacking.

Server admins cheat? Well, nothing can be done about that their server stores their own information making blacklisting irrelevant.

Leaving the only solution "don't play on that server anymore", but your most geared character is on that server and this change prevents you from playing him on any other servers...

I would love to get rid of server hopping, especially since it would make it possible to actually fortify buildings and create primitive city structures.

So it isn't that your idea is bad, it just isn't very thought out

it may be cooler, but for hydroponics it's wiser, also, lots of forests around that castle so its easier to invade, the fact off being open to almos everyone near berezino and easier to access means that it should be taken by survivors and not bandits, making it a nice place to be attacked or settled as a trade zone, also the owner of the instance could profit from the trade in there or protection he offers, bandittry would be nice in devils castle and some building there, but nothing is far better than Skalka, completely isolated, with a nice cover for snipers that are protecting
