Can this computer run (ArmA 2/OA) DayZ well?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am buying a new gaming PC as mine right now is pretty useless, I run ArmA 2 at the lowest possible settings at 8-11 FPS. Just wondering how well this PC will run this game (FPS) and in what settings you would think it could handle.

(NO IDEA WHY THE SPECS ARE HIGHLIGHTED)

Specifications:

Processor (CPU): Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-3570 (3.4GHz) 6MB Cache

Motherboard: ASUS® P8Z77-V LX: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, ATI®CrossFireX

Memory (RAM): 8GB SAMSUNG DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz

Graphics Card (GPU): 2GB AMD RADEON™ HD7870

Memory (Hard Disk)1TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD1002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)

Power Supply: 600W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan

Processor Cooling: SUPER QUIET 22dBA TRIPLE COPPER HEATPIPE INTEL CPU COOLER

Operating System: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

I'm not asking if it will run it at Maximum settings at 1,000,000,000 FPS. I will be fine at Medium (some high) at 30 FPS.

Thanks in advanced.

Highest settings.

If you still get some lags and fps drops in DayZ its not about PC.

Its the poortly optimized ArmA 2 engine

Off Course You will, i Just checked on a site you should sign up to!

You can save your specs and get a rating out of 10 if your specs can handle the game

Your processor got a 10/10

Your Ram Got 9/10

and your Graphics card got 10/10 with only 1GB so the extra Gig will help

Dont worry if you get abit of lag when coming onto a dayz server, the scripts need to be cleaned alot, so dont feel you cant run it if you get abit of lag

Actually, its object cleanup being broken in Day Z. Has nothing to do with arma 2 itself
