DayZ won't start up

When I try to launch the game as Arma 2: combined operations, as I should, I get a command prompt box open for a second, and then disappear again, without launching the game at all. I followed a youtube tutorial for installing the beta patch and tried some of the things in the pinned threads, but I have no idea how to fix it.

I had a similar problem, did you run both Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead before installing the mod? If not that may be your problem. To do this you may have to reinstall one (or both) of Arma and OA. I hope this helps you.
