They are capable of jumping sure.. but, its not a valid tactic since you are not running around with just a gun and a t-shirt and shorts.

You are running around with full gear and jumping can cause a combat injury. OMFG watch a movie once in a while at least.

I remember watching old Viet Nam War videos of actual combat and seeing them all bunny hopping under fire... it was--AMAZING!

Based on the terrain, I doubt we need the ability to jump. I get around just fine without jumping, and even if I could I'd probably instantly break my legs.
