Any way to play without cheaters? Fuck no.

I'm tired of it... .-.

How can my group play without encountering hackers every day? It's like every day we spend hours getting re-geared because the day before we got hacked to death, only for the same thing to be repeated. What the fuck is the issue with this? DayZ has over 950,000 players and not a single fucking thing is being done about the scripters. It's even more irritating that anyone can use the scripts without being banned. The rest of the legitimate players are going to download and use these scripts, bypasses, glitches, hacks just because they're pissed that every other useless fucker is using them.

What's even worse is that Rocket nor Bohemia are doing a single fuckin' thing about it. There are server admins that are attempting to do something about it. If the people who represent this game need some inspiration or advice on how to handle things, see this thread. Obviously you can't do anything yourself, so perhaps you should follow trend of someone who has less ability to protect the game from cheaters than you, the developers, the staff, the representatives.

Point is, you can't do a fuckin' thing about it. Rocket didn't even acknowledge that the interviewer in

got teleported to the 'Thunder Dome' for at least a minute. Keep in mind Rocket is indeed watching his livestream, so he knows that he was obviously teleported.

In the exact same interview, Dean speaks about things he wants to add, such as indicators for bandits. Which would you prefer? Would you rather play without cheaters or would you rather know that the person you're looking at has a few murders under his belt?

I understand that this is a mod that is currently in Alpha. But I've played several games in Alpha, Beta, or live. And this is the first one I've seen that scripters can spawn guns, items, vehicles, helicopters, etc. without even being kicked from a server. Why? Because they've completely restricted the access for the administrators of the servers. It's almost like they support the scripters.

I'm sure this thread will either be ingored or be filled with trolls, but wait until you start getting set up in DayZ and instead of dying by a legitimate player, you die by some piece of shit that downloaded a script to do it instead of doing it themselves.

Play on low pop servers for now.

It is a problem, and this mod will not grow unless this issue is confronted. No need to post another thread about it, I'm sure the devs know about it. :P

Remember, individual unique scripts must be countered with more individual unique scripts. Theres a lot of hackers = a lot of work. So its not Rockets main priority right now. It's a Alpha.

There are various ways to fix these things. Things like kicking the player if they've got a gun that isn't allowed in DayZ. If you enter a vehicle that isn't supposed to be on the server (there are a certain amount of vehicles on each server) you're kicked. If your location changes too dramatically, you're kicked from the server.

Point is things can be done, but they aren't being done.

I realize that I'm bashing the people who are representing the game in various ways, but they have the resorces to stop this or at least limit it. Giving the ability to server admins to sort through various logs would help. I'm not sure, I haven't personally played with the server yet, and I don't plan on it.

These aren't dayz hcks for fuck's sake, they're Arma II hacks, they're Battleye bypasses. Is Arma II in alpha? NO. Is Battleye in alpha? NO.

Rocket doesn't have cheating as as priority because there isn't much he can do about it at a mod level. It is Bohemia Interactive and Battleye who are responsible for securing Arma II, not Rocket, not DayZ. The best, and only real thing Rocket can do at this point is push forward as fast as possible to make DayZ standalone, where it doesn't have to rely upon Arma II.

That isn't going to happen overnight.

So please, in the name of everything you hold dear, do not say "It is an alpha." unless you want to look like somebody who doesn't have a clue.

Actually, Rocket does have a certain amount of control over this as he can introduce new scripts into the game to counter them. But as I said, it would be a ton of work and it is in Alpha and he wants to spend his time other places.
