Global Ban Question

So a friend of mine just bought arma II and such so he could play DayZ with me and some friends. He just got done downloading it all today and joined a random server. Told me he got eaten by a zombie (Died) and then after that he got disconnected from the server with a notice saying he was Global Banned. He said he gets the same notice from other servers now.

So i'm wondering, is there a known bug that bans you from DayZ? Could he have been mistaken for someone else username wise? He literally got the game today and gets banned somehow so you can imagine how upset this would make someone. He is opening a ticket to the team but I wanted to know if the community had any insight on the matter. Thanks in advance.
