Drink and food icon

Hi all,

If your drink or food icon turns red....when will it be at its worst? I mean, my drink icon was once deep red but i could still go on for a while.

Will you lose blood if it stays in the red? Or does something else happen?

As the others above explained, when it starts flashing/blinking (and I believe the 5 minutes is about right. Used to be the border of the icon would also turn red, but I am not sure about that anymore) you need to eat/drink. You will start to lose blood, albeit slowly, and shortly after that you will begin passing out. Probably the slowest death in-game unless something assists you into the next work :P

Pro tip: never eat or drink until icon has been flashing for awhile. Otherwise its just a waste of resources.
