Pupple 9 Posted August 4, 2012 A pretty simple idea stolen from WoW.When you log out, a 20 second timer starts. While its counting down you are frozen in place. When it ends your character disappears. Any other method of logging out leaves your character in place for those 20 seconds before disappearing, and logging in again is disabled while that countdown is in place.This wouldnt solve all combat logging, since if you find a place thats safe for 20 seconds you can still get out, but it would prevent the most fustrating instances of people disappearing mid-death animation. Either get an AS50, or aim for the head... even if that happens, when someone DIES then can STILL ALT+F4 and not be dead due to desync...The only way your idea will work is if the person PERSISTS in the world for 20 seconds after they have quit out the game... good luck doing that. You ALT+F4 to get out quick... but oh wait, the change that you implemented means you lose all your shit.Are you willing to accept that? Pupple 9 Posted August 4, 2012 Yeah this is pretty unavoidable. Personally I would screw over the hacking victims in favour of the people who want their headshots to die. Its hard to tell which group is larger. Judging from streams and personal experience, its the latter.Hopefully hacking will be solved at some point and then this choice will be easy.
