Seriously, DayZ? Come on.

Recommended Posts

My first experience with ladders:

So, I'm in some sort of base that looks like a military airfield. It has two hangers, some sort of control tower, and a bunch of zombies walking everywhere. I search inside the hangers first, disappointed to come out only with an empty whiskey bottle. I approach the control tower, avoiding zombies along the way. I go through the front entrance and finding ammo for guns that I don't have. I find a makarov and walk upstairs silently. As I look around, I notice a ladder that goes all the way down the building. The building has been completely looted so I start climbing down the ladder. I slide my mouse wheel, activating the action menu and it says

"Go Down Ladder" (Or something close to that)

I think that this action is me sliding down the ladder, intentionally going down the ladder faster.

Actually, it's just jumping off the ladder. I break a leg and then bleed to death.

The action is 'drop from ladder' if I remember correctly.

Just use the stairs, you're a target on the ladder anyway.

This is quite an important distinction between people.

Some people, when this happens to them, will think "ok, dont select that option when on a ladder next time" and will continue playing

Some people will come to the forums complaining.

Guess which ones will do the best in dayz.

Found a player camp near the north west of the map on a certain server, I precariously approach it and attempt to gather intel on the number of tents, defenses and any active players, I roll sideways to ensure I have a better view... *BROKEN LEG*

Apparently I came close to a rock and me rolling near it resulted in my femur snapping... fortunately I had one Morphine left... I did have two but I used that up for the same reason... I climbed up a deer stand and when I got the top I just fell through the floor and broke my leg and passed out.

When dayz gives you beans, eat them quickly cause research has pointed out that you'll lose them to god knows what very soon

in other words just enjoy everything while you can cause you'll probably get killed by players, bugs, scriptkiddies and other weird stuff

I wasn't complaining. I just wanted to share a moment which was disappointing. Though, can't really blame you after I named this thread "Seriously, DayZ. Come on".

Some people realize a bad UI when they see one. Others keep sucking BIS off and ask for seconds.

Garret, try sharing moments that you found pleasing and exciting, theyre more pleasing to read.

Septus, if all he wanted to do was draw attention to a bad UI, he would have gone to the suggestions forum.
