Hypothermia and heat packs

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I think heat should be a more primary component of the game or certain game maps (when there are more).

Reasoning:

1. it would add an additional component to the game.

2. Heat packs would become useful. I haven't had to use a single one.

3. additional game maps/modes could incorporate cold weather conditions and the use of a fire would become much more important (survival important) because it would enable multiple people to warm up.

actually there are antibiotics when you are sick? If your temperture goes really low? That's basically what your saying.

The group that I run with uses heat packs all the time. If we run out during a mission, we will stop when necessary and build a fire to warm up. Try doing a night op in the rain. After awhile the temperature icon will turn pink. Next stage it starts flashing, then you better get warm before you get sick, start coughing and eventually start losing blood.

I don't know if I want temperature to be a factor in the game. Reason being is, the game is already too realistic. If you make the game as realistic as possible, its going to be hard. Trust me. I love a realistic game more than the next guy. But you already have to worry about food, water, broken bones, etc.

I also don't know how the temperature would come into play. For one, there are no "cold" areas you can reach in game. So the only way your temperature would drop is through being in the rain for too long. But then you'd have to take into account the rain and actually how cold the area you're in is. To me it would be too much of a hassle for the devs to implement. Because you have to take into account so much stuff.

Then again, maybe I'm thinking to technical.

i read this as, i NEVER play on night servers, or use boats

play on a night server and you always carry at least 1, killed a guy last night simply becasue i heard him coughing as he made his way through the woods, glad i did he ran up and sat literally next to me in the same tree then raised his ls85 to scan the woods ahead for thermal signatures

whatever, but i'd love to see more maps. i don't carry heatpacks but use them when i find some and outside it's raining. the only time i got sick was because of infected hitting me while bleeding

or just standing still at night, or being in water, or riding around on slow ass boats

Man, I Never knew that coughing was because I needed a heat pack. But I still think that is a much lower occurrence and it really depends on the server that you are playing on. BUT, I do think that the rain and such helps simulate different maps in lieu of having other maps.

the coughings caused by an infection, 98.5% of the time you get the infection becasue your temperature dropped to much, the heat pack will raise your temp so you dont get sick, but the antiobitiocs are needed once you get sick
