Why can't servers kick players when hacking?

Recommended Posts

I've been reading these forums, and a lot of hacks are detected by server logs where a play has an item that isn't allowed, or does something that is not allowed in Dayz.

Why can't there be some kind of server plugin or modification that when a player logs in with a non-DayZ item it simply kicks that player?

Heck this doesn't even have to be a server plugin, you could write a bot that monitors logs and uses RCon to kick players. I hear there are hacks to prevent stuff from showing up in logs, but at least this would catch some of the hackers.

Forgive me if I'm naive, I don't run a server or know much about Arma2 servers.

Aye we can look at logs daily and ban if needed the problem is a lot of hacks now are not in the scripts. You also need to find a server that is managed daily like mine :)

Well, if a program monitors the live server logs, couldn't it via RCon simply kick/ban a player as soon as it sees them do something forbidden?

Then the Admins don't have to read through tons of server logs each day, and the hacker will have a limited opportunity to terrorize your server if you happen to not be around.

This seems like it would help even well-run servers.
