DayZ is giving me Issues.

Recommended Posts

Hi there all

I have been playing DayZ for about, I would say hmm Maybe 6 weeks. And that entire time, I have experienced poor or less than average FPS but now, I just cant risk dying because of my FPS performance.

The story is, I have been alive for more than 4 weeks real time, probably 60+ hours in game as of right now. And I cannot enter any city to look for supplies as I am too scared of being killed because I cant turn around fast enough because of my FPS. Below is my system specs.

Windows 7 64bit

8 gigs RAM

AMD FX 6100 Six-Core Processor (6 CPU'S 3.3GHz)

DX 11

amd rADEON hd 6900 1764 MB memory

1920x1080 monitor

all DX11 features Enabled.

120 GIG SSD for OS

1TB WD Green drive for everything else. (including DayZ of course)

And with this system, I can play most modern games at high and a nice stead 70 to maybe 80fps lowest i would say is 40 FPS, but with DayZ I get maybe 40FPS.....when I look at the ground...and with all settings on low, Basically my problem is, anytime I look in the distance I would say from 10 meters away to obviously where my draw distance begins, my FPS drops to about 20 or so. the thing is, this happens with a bunch of my games, Dungeon, Defenders, TF2, Stalker, BlackLight ect, but back to DayZ.

Even with my Settings very low, i Still get the low FPS issue, Is there anything, such as mods or PC tweaks I can do to fix my DayZ FPS Issue, and even if anyone knows about the Low FPS at Distance Issue, Thanks heaps to anyone who can help me.

If you need any other info, please say so. :)

medium / low / very low puts the load on your CPU

high / very high puts the load on your GPU

balance the 2 to get optimal performance :D

also make sure your graphics memory is set to default in game

Ingame video options, jack your memory way up. You have a much much heavier system than mine and I can run in "high" with no issues.

4 gig ddr2

amd phenom II x4 2.8

ati radeon 4870 hd

Jacking up my video memory and some of the settings too, has definitively given me an FPS boost but Is till face a problem with FPS dropping at distance, I will upload some Screen shots in a couple of minutes.

also make sure youre using arma 2 launcher

for any computer better than a toaster it is 100x better than six launcher (keep six launcher for updating ofc). lets you use your max graphics memory, and maximum amount of CPU cores

Ok Using Arma Launcher, and having my settings high I went into DayZ this time, and the results were not good, here are some screen caps with the FPS.

did you set max memory and cpu count to what you have in the launch options?

Wait, unless your talking about the codes you put in the shortcut such as

-maxVRAM=<>

-maxMem=<>

then no i haven't done that, if thats what i have to do, do i set it to the max which is 2047 or to the amount I have in the GPU which is 1764?
