Is zombie agro broken since last patch?

Recommended Posts

See thread title, I know the last patch was released quite a while ago but I keep getting the feeling there is something awfully wrong with zombie agro right now.

Every time I try to stealth around, proning over the ground and avoid all zombies I somehow agro them from miles away, but the moment I stand up and start sprinting around every zombie just ignores me and doesn't give a phuck. I can sprint trew entire towns without agroing a single zombie yet I can't prone trew the outskirts without getting a entire mob chasing me down.

Shouldn't it be the other way around for obvious reasons?

i wouldnt really be complaining

Why not? It destroys the authentic feel if I am forced to sprint around to avoid agro rather than prone around (which doesn't serve a purpose then).

Zombie aggro has been a little messed up for the last few patches. Its not uncommon for a zombie to spot you several dozen meters away even if you're crouch running in tall grass.

The good news is, its now easier to lose zombies in shrubs and dense trees. They will actually stop chasing you if they lose sight of you in dense shrubbery and you can lose them quickly that way if you'd rather not gun them all down.

I think with the new exponential chance what happens is sometimes you stay in visual range if an unseen by you z too long, but if you rush right past one the visual contact time is too short for him to detect you.
