dsi24 227 Posted August 4, 2012 (edited) I'm assuming RV is BIS' commercial engine, and that RV3 is ArmA2's and RV4 is ArmA3's, right? Edited August 4, 2012 by Dsi1
Lonrem 62 Posted August 4, 2012 From what I have been reading and watching, it seems that Rocket wants to continue to use RV 3 for the standalone. If this is true, it's a very bad decision...And you've heard this from where? ARMA3 will already support older mods like DayZ so it's quite likely it'll be on the newer engine. Malachi Krieg 22 Posted August 4, 2012 Just what the title says. I have read that they have tested it and it is possible, but I haven't seen a confirmation. If Rocket uses RV 3 he will be making the wrong decision as it is outdated.Rocket has been in talks with BMI over the stand-alone and he has even stated in the Eurogamer article that if it comes down to it he will use a completely different engine (though he would hate to have to start completely over from scratch). But as Lonrem said above, ArmA III will have backwards compatibility support for mods, so that shouldn't be an issue.
