Well, strange kill

Today i joined a server and got happy: There was a player just lying in a building. As i saw him, i shot im with my DMR. But then it became strange: There were no "xxx was killed" message and i got no kill. When i walked to the corpse I saw he had an G36C SD with 7 mags. Of course it took it. As I got interested who he was, the game told me his name was unknown. Later i looked for the stats of the weapon at DayZ wiki... and found nothing. The weapon seems not to exist! Is it a new weapon or did i just kill a ghost with a buggy weapon?

The G36C is a weapon which is in Arma but not in DayZ...so it is hacked :) But you can use it cause the use of hacked weapons is allowed ;)

G36C SD is a weapon from Arma 2 (http://www.arma2.com/arma-2-oa-weaponry/a-2-oa-assault-rifles_en.html), I believe it's not in DayZ mod so the user probably cheated to get it.

What really confuses me is that the "player" seems to be a ghost. I later saw 3 more of them but didn't shoot them as my inventory was full and one of my friends was lying bleeding around 400 m away and had no bandages left. I mean, before i killed him, i had 2 kills and 0 banditkills and after I killed him i still only had 2 kills and 0 banditkills...

If this happens, you can report the admin for admin abuse if this happens. You cannot be banned for possessing a hacked weapon, only spawning it yourself.

Majority of hosts wont let an admin kick let alone ban. The amount of freedom they give admins is to restart the server when they want.... thats about it, any other actions usually result in blacklisting/eviction. Even so it would have to be an admin who finds the gun which would be slim to none. And it probably was an NPC... Alot of the freaky shit that goes on in green mountain is from hacking i went there once and found 10 npcs all over the place. The amount of hacks in the game is outragous and the prism graphical eye rape is also breaking this game. I have a feeling its going to die before its even released which is a shame it was a very promising mod.

I actually remember one time i was in berezino a zombie was using a pistole, i think it was a makarov, fun times.

I don't know about being banned, but I had killed a guy with what looked like an AS50 from far away and turned out to be an AS50 with the AWS. So i killed him, took it and had been using it happily for like a week then one day I spawn in and I had to choose a new character. I'm not banned from any server but did lose all my high tier stuff
