Hey guys, I set up http://www.dayzstories.com today. I think it would be great to have everyone tell his or her captivating stories in one easy to find location. Every submission right now is actually verified by a human to keep out the junk and the "I spawned and got killed by a bandit" stuff. Feedback is much appreciated but at the same time please keep in mind it's just an early "experiment" much like DayZ itself!

It's just a simple WordPress site now but I'd like to build something more custom once I see how it goes. I am a software engineer so I more than have the capability to make this into something really functional if there is enough attention :)

DayZ's ability to produce stories is one of the main reasons its so acclaimed. You may have hit a goldmine here. I know I enjoy reading them.

I'm hoping that the site brings people in from outside the community. Maybe it will finally take all those "video games are dumb and a waste of time" people and make them rethink things for awhile. I can even imagine this game easily inspiring books, movies, television, and other games. The level of immersion is incredible. Every morning as I'm logging into my computer I always tell my coworker a story from the previous night. He hasn't been into PC gaming in a very long time and he is slowly talking about playing DayZ.

I've had one submission so far and it was very well done. I'd love to hear (and I'm sure the world would also) what other exciting adventures we all have been having.

IMO, a different format would better suit it, so you could have things like anonymous submissions, ratings, better organization, etc. Would it be so difficult as to not be worth the effort at the start of the site's life? In fact, this has inspired me to attempt it, if only to see how it'd go.
