That might bottleneck his PC if his GPU >> CPU

Edit: Assuming his board can run it.

dodger, do you mind posting your PC specs?

Now i'm not too computer smart, but an i3 3.3ghz shouldn't cause much of a bottleneck (especially on arma/Dayz) with that graphics card.

Well it would be nice if it was so. I don't know your resolution, but i have a 6950 (2GB) @ 6970 core clock and my ingame settings are:

1920x1080

Texture: Very High

Video Memory: Default

AF: Very high

AA: 5

AToC: All Trees

Terrain: Normal

Object: Normal

Shadows: High

PPAA: FXAA (Sharp) High

HDR: Normal

PostProcess: Off

VSync: Off

For me, it was a way to run the game with a decent FPS rate while it looks good. When I'm outside of Cherno and look at Cherno, i get something like 20 - 30 FPS (a bit laggy). When I don't look at a city, i get around 40-50 FPS. So, could you please tell us what settings you exactly have? I'm pretty sure the 6570 is a way worse than my 6950...

You guys should know he has a 300w psu which means he couldn't even run a Radeon HD 6k series.

so what should i get?

Your might aswell get the card aswell as a decent but cheap power supply, i think you need about a 500 watt one (I think I saw it on their website as i'm currently looking for a quote on quote "budget" card) but probably worth aim a bit higher, try some of the bigger makes (Corsair, Antec) or head for something like Be Quiet, generally quite cheap and as the name says very, very silent, next to no sound xD (I have a 530watt one, works like a charm).

The Intel Core 2 Duo line actually performs better than the stated speed (2.93ghz). In comparison to mine it would scale to roughly about 4ghz (Give or take a few).

I think the RAM should be a concern as well (Though thats just my thoughts) as my 1333mhz in my other computer (6gb) sometimes slows down a bit (Though normally picks its self back up after 5/10mins).

Try some of the optimization threads, I use a Core 2 Duo @1.78 ghz (rated at 3.4 ghz I think) and a GT 520 1gb with 2 gb ram and i get AT LEAST 30 fps constant (Though does drop to 20-25 while entering cities, fine once i'm in/out). Fair enough setting are on low, but this is from an aging dual core with a terrible motherboard and some cheap 1033mhz DDR2 RAM.

Also, that frequency of CPU's core is too slow,
