So, I've been taking the moral high ground lately, and it's been pretty good. To this point I have been hating on combat loggers, and been frustrated about them. But justnow I became part of the problem, and I have to confess it because of how bad I am. I was going to the top of a hill near Elektro and decided to look out, watching the view when suddenly I hear footsteps very closeby, followed by gunfire.

Behind me are three dudes who I think basically just ran into me, all happy to see me in my survivor gear and my M4SD, it turns out pretty badly for me, I fire a couple of rounds in their direction but they shoot me until I go unconscious (5 minute timer) and have like 1500 blood left, out of sheer frustration I hit abort and disconnect and feel frustrated. I had gathered a lot of gear over quite some time and I just reacted.

A moment later I am struck with self-loathing and proceed to log on to the same server, only to (again) find myself with an unconscious timeglass, and blood dropping, as I die I decide to post about this, if any of you are part of those three duders on that server that shot me, if you go up to that hill where you ran into me, my body is still there as of writing this post, I had a M4A1 CCO SD with four clips, some steaks, antidote, blood, and the Coyote Backpack (24 slot one) with an AS50 and three mags + a lot of soft drinks and stuff (+NVGS, GPS, etc. etc.).

I also want to say I'm sorry for logging. My bad. I'm ashamed of myself.

It baffles me so much to see people abort after taking shots and being knocked down. Don't they get they're going to die regardless? At least you manned up. I've had plenty of 7+ day characters with great gear get offed. I learned to stop caring about what I'm wearing a long long time ago. There's always someone else out there that will end up with your stuff sooner or later.

That's why I use an as50. People have less time to alt f4, of course they can still do it after they're dead and their loot disappears if they do that, but it's less likely than if you're spraying at a guy

I was surprised myself, the longer it takes to gather gear the more cautious and less willing to take risks I become. Basically I avoid any populated areas and stick my head out only when I need to kill some animals, or if I have the advantage in a fight. In this case I was just looking out in the distance (hoping to maybe find someone in the distance to perhaps kill) when I heard the footsteps it was already too late, basically as soon as I saw the first guy they had begun firing, I don't think any of them had any good gun (sounded more like makarovs, which is why I didn't die immediately). It really happened very quickly, and I really thought I was dead as it seemed to take forever to hit abort, fumbling with the mouse and misclicking as my adrenaline rish hit the ceiling.

The only other game to ever give me such an adrenaline rush is EVE-Online. The danger of losing something is what makes it so awesome, so I'm glad I had that engagement, but I'm sad I had to pussy out. Starting over again feels liberating, now I can go to noob city and kill other noobs like me without too much care.

thats the thing, its not hard to tell a buddy where you were he runs to the area, you loggin (usually on a different server) he spots you layin on the ground bandage/blood bag wait 5 minutes and your good to go again :-/

last night i died twice fighting the same ghosting combat d/c'ing worthless gimp from the [5*] clan, he really wanted that chopper, however we had more people and vehicles to ship us from the coast back into the fight before he could clear the area .. ive never combat logged from Z's or incomming fire, he fights diorty outside the rules we do it within the rules ;-)

there should be a timer of 10 sec to log out, if you move it reset

in this way we get rid of the combat log problem...

ofc ya can cut ur cable but ur char will still be freekill for 10 sec
