WHAT IS THE THUNDERDOME?

The other day I joined a server, which I eventually uploaded a video about it. It was a server that appeared like it was a THUNDER DOME plugin enabled from the server side. In all honesty, I have not researched it yet and I am guessing it is a hacked server. At the bottom of the screen, it displays a message about it being a thunderdome event of some sort, and how we will spawn in 5 minutes.

So what exactly is this?

It was a location that had gears of almost all the guns/loots. You can pick them up and shoot other players who are also in the same area as you. In a minute or so later after spawning there from joining the server, it had another message that appeared at the bottom saying the Helicopter will be spawning soon, and to get out or we will be shot. We all got teleported in the middle and got shot by some invisible hacker. It was a massacre in there, and I ended up dieing instantly.

Here's what I am concluding at but leaving any other opinions open for discussions

since I do not know for certain at (100%) it's either one of these, that's why I am here.

A) The server has been hacked and taken over by hackers who display that message

B.) new plugin that I do not know about (server side) that is specifically about Thunderdome

C) The admin, possibly a bad apple, wanting to ruin the game for others by hacking.

D) your guess, or fact goes here.

Hackers. Admins can't do shit like that, unless they're hacking aswell. But I doubt you'd hack your own server.
