Seeking the 1km kill

So I have had my M107 for a while, a couple of murders on it but nothing special. I am seeking a 1000 meter kill. So far my thoughts for locations to try this are:

- south of Stary as a counter sniper

- west of electro, looking at dobry hill, as a counter sniper

Any advice on reaching this goal? Locations, tips, advice, all appreciated.

Done it, with an Enfield.

Took about 10 tries but still got him, at Airfield is best, go to ATC tower and aim south-east/west.

My longest range kill was like 950m, took me 3 shots because the small target was lying on the ground on the stary sobor hill, half into the ground.

I was also at the south of stary sobor as a counter sniper. i dont know any other good positions with such a hugh range.

Maybe you are lucky and find someone on the roofs of cherno, with a good spot far away i can imagine a good shot if you have a good sight on the server.

But honestly, i only see "noobs" on the roofs of cherno sniping/shooting down the new spawns. I would NEVER go into such a vulnerable position.

Going up there is just... stupid, i dont know why people think thats a good idea. Yesterday i just shot 2 snipers with a friend on that roof, 700m away. We both killed 1, 2 shots fired at the same time, as they died at the same time. Iam the angel of cherno who protects new-spawns from the foolish evil.

Longest was 875 meters on a stationary target with an AS50 near Krasno. One shot. The only reason I even took the shot was because he stayed still (crouched) facing me for so long. He was scouting the town I guess. The most obvious tip is to spend some time in single player to get very familiar with the weapon at those ranges. When I first found an AS50, I immediately hopped on to SP and practiced. I do that whenever I find a new weapon but, especially with the sniper rifles. With sniper rifles, more than any other weapon, you don't want to learn the weapons ballistics and nuances on the job.

You'll find most players that like to snipe will rarely give up their trade secrets.

I certainly won't, other than to say: don't do the obvious things. Be creative, but always follow the rules of stealth, security, and target/shot selection.
