zealot644 3 Posted May 25, 2012 I made a thread earlier about weapons and how it feels like I have a pea shooter in comparison to other players. Regularly I get the jump on another player and despite upper body and head shots, they always seem to survive and two shot me in return. (Yes, I shoot slowly to ensure bullets hit and I try for the head)Basically I got told A)I suck B)Could be lagSo please, tell me your ultimate wisdom in relation to killing people. I'm sick of getting killed by a bandit who wont drop from 4 .45 ACP rounds to the face, or a survivor who takes two rounds to the head and chest just to turn around and one shot me with his Winchester.Every death I have had so far can be attributed to losing gun battles. This isnt to say I havent won any (I have won a few on my own with considerable 'luck' - one dude took about 8 shots from my M16A2 and i STILL had to finish him off with my pistol) but they are few and far between. So, TELL ME HOW YOU DO IT. THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS.
wicked_circuits 3 Posted May 25, 2012 If you want to survive killing others, you need distance. The Lee Enfield might be good so long as your not around any zombies, or the cz550. Even the winchester would be good, depending on your aim. Stand back at least 100m with these, and you should be golden :) happy hunting

Are they really that bad?I mean, some guy 3 shotted me with an AKM earlier...I've been able to like 8 shot somebody with the AKM and that's it. I've faced people close range with it and despite shooting them numerous times they are still alive and bleeding whereas if the sides were switched I'd have been dead two bullets in.Close quarters is where most of my engagements happen - I need to know how to do that properly (because apparently I do it wrong)
Bandit Hunter 29 Posted May 25, 2012 I had some bad luck in gunfights against bandits a while ago. I don't play games anymore, and certinally don't trust my bullets. If I have a shot, I unload a magazine as quickly as possible without regard to aim, before rolling out of my position, reloading, and firing some just-in-case rounds.. just in case. Suicide Mouse 50 Posted May 25, 2012 I can almost guarantee you that is lag, mate.In any case, what you should always remember is that this game have real ballistics, so there's bullet drop and yawn, speed and impact.Take that in consideration to make sure you're getting headshots. But I'm sure you're too close to have any bullet effect, that's why I bet on lag.

I always aim for the upper torso and for the head when possible because I know it's the best 'kill spot' but I still get completely f****ed whenever the player decides to return fire. I got a nice two kills with a DMR today on people I sniped and it felt like they died properly (Two body shots on one, and a single headshot on another - there was a slight delay after they got hit, but still) until I died and havent been able to connect to any servers since. Other guns simply dont work...What are the best guns for defending myself? I've used the M16A2 and AKM as well as Makarov and M1911 against players - that's it, everything else for me lacks any experience. So far none of my guns feel efficient.grab an enfield' date=' you will drop people fast with that gun[/quote']I'll consider this...and hope I dont pull a whole city of zombies lol. wicked_circuits 3 Posted May 25, 2012 One option, if your set on close range, find an assault rifle, and when you head into close quarters, hit 'f' to switch to burst or even full auto, then when further away, switch back to semi. That way, if you happen upon someone else in close quarters, one click, one mag. :D

Players in my sights still dont die :(I sound like a fucking broken record always being like 'nope' but it's the reality...One which I hate.

Mitritch 4 Posted May 25, 2012 In order to rule out that you are slow and clumsy try to pass this test:http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime/reaction.swfIf you are hitting 200 on average - then you are good to kill almost anybody you meet. :)(BTW, while using windows 7 you can try to disable Aero, cause it adds significant input lag - for my system it is close to 50 milliseconds)grab an enfield' date=' you will drop people fast with that gun[/quote']This. I tried for the longest time to avoid killing those I didnt have to, but when I see bandits especially I will shoot them on principle. On my screen I am almost always the first one to shoot, usually getting off a few shots before they return fire. Suicide Mouse 50 Posted May 25, 2012 I think you should throw the "I shoot slow to make sure I'm getting hedshots" away. Fire fast, as fast as you can, and see what you get.I'm pretty sure that in a gunfight the shots have a delay to be "confirmed", so I think that who got the most shots in the less times, when the time lapse suddenly goes out the guy gets several holes on him at once. It was with that reasoning I decided that slower aimed shots would be best (I'm not talking super slow, but I definitely single shot with slight delays to ensure the gun is back in place before another round goes out)
