Trundle 6 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) Hello,I just had a couple quick questions regarding server resets. Any help would be great thanks (couldn't find anything relating in search).- Do servers have a "default" time they restart?- Is there a way to find out when a server restarts? (Generally speaking)Also, I'm assuming that knowing when a server restarts is important if you are trying to be "first" to get the fresh spawns. Is this true and is that when people usually try to get in a server asap and battle? Thanks again. Edited August 3, 2012 by Trundle
Lith 80 Posted August 3, 2012 Most servers will have their restart times in the MOTD when you first join. Better servers have messages that alert you prior to restarting. There's no default or automated restart functionality for servers built into Arma2/DayZ. This has to be setup by the admin using 3rd party utilities.
Trundle 6 Posted August 3, 2012 Appreciate the info. I see you own a server as well, do you find that people tend to join right after a restart to rush for the fresh spawns?
Lith 80 Posted August 3, 2012 Seems like a few try and do that. Freshly restarted servers don't spawn loot right away though so they have to wait for it to start repopulating ;).
tsandrey 379 Posted August 3, 2012 BattleEye alerts you when a server will restart, and it usually takes a few mins for the server to get back up.But don't join as soon as it appears, cause you will get stuck. Wait a few mins
