BEWARE dayzhosting.com/Host Altitude Servers

In searching on the forums and six launcher it seemed the dayzhosting.com/Host altitude servers are the most popular. I emailed them prior to make sure they had new york locations, which they assured me I did. I then purchased a server on friday 7/27. I recieved notification on sunday that my server would be up within 24 hours. It is now friday and no server, sent several emails over a course of a week and have not recieved notification. I entered a ticket in the resolution center in hopes of not putting in a dispute and negatively affecting the business, but they are giving me no choice by holding on to my money for a week with little to no communication.

Why would you want to spend 4x as much on a dedi when you can find reputable providers here with no problems?

More like 1.5x judging by some of the prices, atleast in EU.

I'm referring to quality datacenters with quality servers - not that OVH crap. Yes you can definitely find some cheap dedis out there but if you want quality that's another story entirely.

I am having a similar issue. I signed up on August 2nd, though. They had posted a twitter message earlier that said current setup time for DayZ is 1-2 hours. I was pretty excited and ordered a server just to find out that not only is it goes to be much longer, they do NOT communicate well through their site. It seems like the best way to get hold of them is through these forums? Cool and all, but you NEED to be on top of your ticket queue! I would never consider these guys for anything more than a game server, and even then I wish I would have done more research first.

I got my server from http://elpishost.com/ it was up within 8 hours of the order. Also the cheapest prices I've seen anywhere yet. Server has very little lag and very quick load times.

Forgot to mention we had 25 people on last night with minimal desync.

I opened a support ticket with HostAltitude last night and have not heard anything from them yet. If I cannot get my server up today I am going to cancel and order through them.

I would much rather just have my server setup so I can play on it! I ordered from you after seeing your 1-2 hour setup time advertised on August 1st via twitter. I was hoping to have the server up and configured by tonight so that our squad can play on it tonight and this weekend.

Only problem I've noticed is I get the desync icon all the time but I've never actually desynced.

Also I still have a lot to research and configure, I feel I've bothered you enough and I'm the self help type.

The explanation and apologies are nice. But you still have not been able to provide an ETA. When will my server be up? You tell me to cancel if I am unhappy, but you don't give me any information to base my decision on and you don't say why they are not coming online. So far as I can tell you are only apologizing for and explaining the delays in support requests and questions.

They are a good hosting company... I have been with them for almost 6 months. They reply fast to tickets... Just hit a bump in the road as Jonnerz has posted.

At least he is being honest and trying to fix the problem. Even offers a refund if you want. Most server company's would just take your money and never say a word all the way to the bank. Then setup the server when they feel.

really a paypal dispute is a horrible thing to do to someone, even if they are doing a bad job

when you dispute a paypal payment paypal will lock down the owners bank account and really slow down the process and the company's ability to operate at all, thus affecting other customers who might not have any problem at all.

its akin to calling the brownshirts because your jewish taylor made your cuffs to short

yeah... its that bad
