PAiN512 10 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) Nothing new or insightful to say.I recently lost my entire group of real life buddies who refuse to continue playing this game as well as hosting a server because so far, nothing can or will be done any time soon regarding hackers. Can we please please please address the hacker issue? If you run or have ran a DayZ server, you know what I'm talking about.-TY Edited August 3, 2012 by PAiN512
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted August 3, 2012 who told you nothing can or will be done?
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted August 3, 2012 I thinkt he devs read the forum, but they also have magic glasses that do not display issues that have already been aknowledged or suggestions already presented.Which means that for them, the suggestion forum starts on page ten. MikeTupper 68 Posted August 3, 2012 Hackers will keep hacking no matter what. It's like trying to fight crime... i think?
loose_unit (DayZ) 0 Posted August 3, 2012 I have uninstalled the game as a result of hacking. I will not be buying a standalone version, I have had enough.
PAiN512 10 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) who told you nothing can or will be done?My apologies for the delay. I don't check for updates as often as I normally do these days.Well, I can't speak from personal experience. But the host who is paying for the current server we play on (my real life friend) told me straight out that he, as well as other server owners will have these discussions with the devs about hacking trends and things that affect server stability and such.According to him, after speaking with devs, not a lot can be done in terms of stopping hackers outright for good or even long enough to make it logical for him to continue paying to keep the server up.Since then he killed the server in regards to DayZ and turned it into A.C.E. mod server. It's fun but it defeats the purpose on why I joined ARMA 2 which was for DayZ. I love the game and it just makes me sad to see/hear people leaving DayZ due to hackers.Don't get me wrong. I for one will not be leaving but then again, I'm not paying to play, i.e. paying to own/rent a server. When you put yourself into the shoes of the people that actually are paying, I guess it only makes sense for them to leave. :( Edited August 6, 2012 by PAiN512
nacrom 82 Posted August 6, 2012 Our group plays on private hives only for these reasons. Why doesn't your bud make his server private hive?
PAiN512 10 Posted August 6, 2012 I haven't really asked but I would assume it's because we really enjoy the aspects of PvP.
nacrom 82 Posted August 6, 2012 In all honesty I've had a great increase in both the quality (no server hoppers, ghosting) and quantity ( we have a huge rivalry with 2 other regular groups plus the stragglers) than on any public server.
