DayZ Lag

I recently downloaded ARMA II and Dayz via Steam and Six-Updater, respectively.I believe I have a decent computer, unfortunately I don't know much about computers so I am not completely sure, but I am still suffering through a very low FPS and significant input lag. How can I increase my frame rate and reduce the input? I don't want the best graphics availble in ARMA/DayZ IU just want to be able to play it. I try putting most of the options on advanced graphical setting on low or normal. I still keep my resolution fairly high because when I try to decrease it the debug table in the corner is no longer visible which leads me to believe that this is limiting my FOV so my issues with FPS and input may lie there, but, as I said, I don't know much about computers. If someone could offer some advice to help that would be much appreciated.

Here are my specs:

OS: Windows 7 64-bit

AMD Six-Core FX-6120 (3.5 Ghz)

10 GB DDR3

AMD Radeon7450 HD

I would suggest trying a few different servers, I get a lot of lag just from certain servers. The only other thing that I can think of is that it may be your internet connection. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your specs, they are near enough equivalent to mine and my game runs without lag 95% of the time.
