US 1776, Kicking for 200 ping/threatening to ban for it ?

Recommended Posts

Yay or nay?

I mean kicking or banning for ping in Arma is bs. since hit rego is client side so it doesnt matter what ping they have.

And this isnt automated kicks either, this is an admin coming on and doing it randomly, straight after he died coincidently aswell.

Have screens.

Kicking for Ping is BattleEye sided. You can set the max. ping in your config FYI. Banning btw is NOT part of BattleEye.

Edit: Ok not sure but, he announced it himself. Would let it BattleEye do. Smell abuse over there.

Battleye should be kicking you. Default setting is 150 I believe. Why not just find a server you have better latency with? I see this happen a lot with people connecting with 200+ ping and just sitting at loading screen. It puts everyone in desync. Regardless though it is not a bannable offense and if he was to ban you it would be against TOS.

Just an FYI, this wasn't us who ran/run the US Seattle 1776 server. We've been down for several days while we've changed hosts and I guess somebody decided to snag our server # in the interim.

http://arma2.swec.se/server/data/154600 is the server StrikeGTX is talking about, http://arma2.swec.se/server/data/268990 was ours.

I say this because it was confusing as hell for me until I actually checked and saw somebody decided to steal the name.
