Vehicles on servers?

My friend just claimed that most vehicles excluding bikes, are spawned only on servers that have the "Armor" option enabled.

So far I have only played on servers with mostly veteran settings (Deathmessages and maybe 3rd person view).

Now that I think of it, I haven't seen any usable cars on these servers.

Is there truth behind this claim? Because when I browse the servers, the ones that have the armor option enabled, usually have nametags and such enabled. That's a definite no for me.

I've never heard of this 'armor' tag. Most servers afaik you'll find either:

a. cars that have spawned recently that need to be repaired

b. cars that other people have repaired and are hiding/being used.

I forgot to mention that I use DayZ commander program to browse servers. It has different filter options and armor is one.
