DE 373 - I saw a wizard - Picture

I was playing with a friend yesterday on DE 373. I was on my way to meet him. He was looting a supermarket and saw a bus. He heared a nice "beep bep" from the bus. He thought they were picking up players to help them, as I told him that the day before some nice people rescued me from zombies and dropped me in a safe place with their car. Anyway, we didn't see many cars so he decided to run to these people in a friendly way. Then 3-4 well geared people in that bus stopped, killed him and drove the bus again. Then we realized that they were going from town to town, killing all the survivors they could see. I was killed too a bit later.

So we decided that we could not let that "death bus" going. Not successful though, because we were killed again (high end automatic rifles, snipers, and M249 SAW, ghillie suits...). But a bit later, I saw those bandits had troubles (Elektro or Tcherno, don't remember), their bus was alone and I managed to steal it. I went out of town, they shot on the bus, it was seriously damaged but was able to keep going. I drove to my friend and picked him up with the bus.

I can't remember exactly where we escaped, at the north of Kamenka, I think. Then we entered a small town with the bus and saw a guy (ghillie suit and so on) he was just in front of a small barricade wall. We decided to crush him with the bus : he was waiting if front of that small barricade, with high end gear, and didn't run away (the bus is really noisy). The bus crashed on that small wall, the survivor was thrown away but he didn't die. I think that usually, one can't survive that kind of collision in DayZ, because one day I was killed myself by my friend because I was wainting for him at the top of a ladder (If you know what I mean...DayZ...)

His bones were broken. We tried to kill him and he asked for help. My friend went out to bandage him, but was knocked uncounscious by zombies. The survivor tried to help my friend, but didn't succeed. He healed his broken bones, I'm not sure I've seen the morphine auto injector animation. He told me to exit the bus and to follow him. All of a sudden, a brand new SUV (not sure of the vehicle's name, but sure it doesn't exist in DayZ) appeared. "It's my car, go in".

He drove me to a safe place. "I give it to you, take it and go away", then he disappeared in the wood. Finally I picked my freshly respawned friend up, and we took a picture of that shiny car. We started to go away a bit later, and were both shot dead in about 1-2 seconds.

I'm not sure the bus bandits were hackers, but recently I've heard that some hackers did that kind of "vehicle rampage", killing all the survivors they could see.

But the other guy is either a hacker, or an admin (or a wizard).

We can't remember everything exactly because that was so impressive.

Date : 08/02 - between 19h30-20h30 in France (yes, English is not my mother's tongue).

Is it weird I came on this thread expecting to see the picture consisting of someone looking like Gandalph dressed in purple floating through the woods while wide-eyed players stare at him in disbelief?

First off - next time please take the time to search the Forum for the existing server Thread (http://dayzmod.com/f...page__hl__de373) or post directly on our page (http://forum.mydayz.de - might actually be difficult as it is in german) which is announced via ingame global every 20 minutes - I only noticed this thread by chance.

Unfortunately despite the fact that (or maybe because...) we are putting much effort in keeping our servers hack/cheat free we got several other reports of hacks and cheats on DE 373 during the last days.

Thanks for your report - I will go through the logs and see if anything comes up!

OK, I understand what you're saying, but what's the point of a cheat-report category if we have to find ourselves the topic related to a specific server ? Also I think most players don't pay attention to server's broadcast messages, especially when i'ts about general information. I mean, that's the kind of message you see on each server, it's like empty tin cans, at first you wonder what it is out of curiosity, but after playing a little you don't even notice them. It's because you think it's useless for you (and it will be in many cases), but sometimes it can be useful (yeah you can throw empty tin cans on other players).

I'm not saying what you do is wrong, I know how hard it is to be admin sometimes.

The issue is that cheat reporting mainly serves the purpose of raising this issue to the attention of the admin of the server so he can try to identify the players responsible. And as I said I only noticed this thread purely by chance as it popped up in the "recent posts" list on the forum main page. Whereas if you'd have posted in the server thread I had received an instant e-mail notification.

On the contrary when creating new posts with "DE 373" as name I do not even have the possibility to find these via the forum search as it has problems with such search terms. So it is very likely that I'd never find such threads.

I agree with you that most people will ignore ingame messages - but that is what server threads are for ;)

To sum it up again, here is what you can do to make a server admin aware of issues:

• Search for a server thread for this particular server, if the location ID contains spaces strip these for the search without space (e.g. DE373)
  
• Post in this thread or PM the thread opener
  
• Have a look at the server name because many will have domains of the hosters included
  
• Watch out for server broadcasts as these might give indications on where to report issues
