Server Logs

Recommended Posts

Ok, So.

I've had a server for about 3 weeks now.

I've been reading and searching these forums in an attempt to find how to better prevent hacks, Or at least track them.

I've seen multiple posts about being able to view the logs and see who has spawned items. Being new to Arma it self I have no idea which logs are meant to have this information or how to even tell which event is an illegal spawn.

Also, I keep hearing over and over about this "Scripts.txt" file to add to our servers:

1. Where does one find said file with all the events to check for

2. Where does it go?

I find a "scripts_old.txt" file in my server files but that's it (In the battleye directory)

Is there no thread dedicated to helping admins learn how to do any of this? If so perhaps one could be started?

I'm aware the scipts file only helps LOG the activities of these children and their toys, but still being able to find out WHO has done it, And then have them banned prevents them from returning.

If someone could help me understand what it is i'm meant to be looking for would be awesome. I hate being able to see the direct chat in BERcon and see someone type "Can you spawn a helicopter" And have no way to find out if it was done or who did it.

Perhaps also there could be a Server Owner section in the forums? Somewhere we can collaborate and help one another? Just an idea.
