ok im not trying to make this cod ....but maybe by killing a certain number of Z's you level up making you a better shot etc

There should be some kind of ingame progression where u can specialize ,maybe by using the hatchet u become better at melle and its actually a valid option ,and this can include sniping and various other guns .....even running more should give u xp to make u able to run faster etc

i dont think you should be able to become over powered just have the ability to improve at what you like to do ...as if i live in the woods and hunt animals i should be able to see and hunt them faster and get more meat than someone who has just wondered off the coast etc

(also i did search for this but found nothing tbh suprised its not there so sry if i missed it )

I like it the way it is. You're only as good as your equipment, and that can be replaced if you die. Everyone is in the same boat starting on the coast. The moment I pick up the same gun as you, we're on equal footing.

That's why I love this mod.

Your progression comes from learning how to survive. The better you can read the terrain, read your map, compass, know what tools you need to stay alive.

The point of the mod is to help people learn survival basics that would translate to real life. The psychology of the experience is also a big part of it.

The longer you stay alive, the higher your 'xp'.

If you get a gun and shoot random people to steal the stuff they have worked hard for, you are not a survivor, you are a moron...and probably 12, or have the mental/emotional capacity of a 12 year old.

Well, you would naturally be able to do this. As you played more, you would get more accustomed to everything. Why should you have some skill which reduces your inabilities by X amount when you could just try and do the same thing?

DayZ is about what YOU can do, not what your character can do. If you can read stars, you can navigate by night without a compass.

If you were a boyscout, once you have a watch, you have a DIY compass. Rocket has said multiple times, he doesn't want "stats".

You're a good shot because you begin to understand how to shoot. The guy who's holding the gun is not the one who knows how to shoot in Day Z. You are.

I am not name calling, I am stating a fact. The hill billys are a plague in this game and currently, everything is ridiculously stacked in their favour.

The only reason the CoD/BF crowd are playing this game is because it is so easy to camp with a sniper rifle and kill other players, while avoiding detection...

They are playing DayZ because they hate dying in CoD/BF, and they love killing people from great distances because they are cowards. It's the

well i thought it was a reasonable idea :P ....ofc the xp thing was just a suggestion it could be done in a more natural subtle way to fit in with the game ,but ofc once u have everything ie chopper and cars im kinda bored what to do next as reading terrain and the stars is not for me tbh .

I bought arma 2 for dayz .....if i want to play mega serious game then i would play that (which i dont ) ,why isnt arma2 mega popular if all people want to do is read terrain and look at the stars ?
