dimak415 62 Posted August 2, 2012 Last night may have been the wildest night of DayZ in my life. We had our camp raided 2 nights ago. V3S, Truck, UAZ and Heli gone, but the bastards left one tent standing with nothing but a Kobra and Stanag rounds. Very funny. I frantically ran around looking for our stuff, as we had no food, water... nothing. About 3km from our base, on the east side of the long skinny bay in the NE was our chopper, no vehicles, 2 tents and a dead body. The only reason I went there is because we had found a tent and PBX near there. Total awesomeness. I took all of the morphine and useful goodies out of the tents and left a bear trap between them :) I can only hope he doesn't have a morphine on him. :DAnyways, I meet up with my mates. We fly to a fuel pump, load up about 2/3 into the chopper and head out looking for a good place to relocate our base and search for our vehicles. No dice. We found a few empty camps on the West, 2 choppers (Yay NVGs!) and then, out of boredom, we land at NWAF near the refueling tanks. We load up on gas again and ammo (I find an m4a3 CCO in the barracks!), and just as we are about to enter the chopper BAM! Yellow chain. We wait 20 min. Server is down! We didn't save the chopper! I log. 20 min later, friend of mine gets on mumble and joins a night server (he has the only other pair of NVGs in our group). I tell him a about what happened, but he is on the far east, we are in the west and we have no vehicles. He decides to check out NEAF and finds an ATV with l85 and a V3S completely packed full of loot. He is kind of a newb who we saved from cherno and doesn't have driving experience, but I tell him to drive the V3S to NWAF to pick me up. He does, with my guidance. All is well, we establish a new camp far from our old one, and then I alt tab and refresh our chopper server. Its back and its only been about 45 min since I last checked! We drive the ATV to NWAF, log out near the fire house. Log into the chopper server and my friend says he hears a chopper and gunshots! I'm in shock, but alas! "LOADING". He's in, but he's noob, and scared to leave the safety of the shack until I get in. FINALLLY, after an excruciatingly long load, I'm in. I hear the chopper spinning up! I run out of the shack, buddy in tow. We run through the firehouse back door and see our chopper near the radio tower! Its facing the exact opposite direction and is about 100m away. I weapon the L85 and fire 10-12 rounds into what I believe to be the rotor. But they are off the ground anyways! AND TURNING! We run back into the firehouse backwards, shooting the bottom and sides of the chopper. Bullets from the MG on the chopper are flying EVERYWHERE. I'M HIT! I'm at 6k health but we duck into the safety of the stairwell. Zombies are everywhere. The chopper is circling. I climb up the stairs slowly, aim down my sites and see the yellow outline of a chopper amidst a sea of orange. I fire 2 shots before I am peppered with 50 cal rounds from the machine gun. I. Am. Dead. My buddy grabs my NVGs, L85 and GPS and waits patiently for the chopper to leave. He was hit as well and is at 4k health. He tries to avoid the zombies but cant. I am biting my nails listening to what is happening on mumble. It is driving me crazy. I hear his m4a1 over mumble blasting! He is swarmed. And now he is on the ground, unconscious. I am in utter shock. He has 2 NVGS, an L85 AWS, 2 GPSes. His get up with 1k health and killes the remaining zombies. He is bleeding and at less than 50 blood now. He can't see and doesn't know the NWAF at all. I'm pleading with him to out of there, he passes out 3 times but makes it the tree line.I have some crazy footage and pictures of this, but am too lazy to edit it today. These last 2 days have been an utter rollercoaster of emotions. One day you have 3 awesome vehicles and 4 tents packed, AND A CHOPPER! The next you are scouring Grocery Stores for beans. Then again, chopper. Then DC. Sadness. Then V3S and ATV and L85 AWS. Then chopper again! Then death... and sadness again. It's too much man. I need a break.
