Server location ID copycats

well his server is only 30 slots so report the server and get it blacklisted

I don't think that's the mature approach to this...

Anyone else had this occur to them?

Guessing there's nothing I can do to stop idiots grabbing my name?

I had this problem with my server host. I opened a ticket with them to have it resolved.

They might not be 'idiots', but in the scenario in which you both were provided the same Instance ID by the DayZ guys.

You might want to reach out to the DayZ staff and have them take a look at it. You'll get a better response if you reach out to them via the self service portal as opposed to posting here in the forums!

Duplication of Location IDs seems like common issue. For example I see 11(SIC!) different US 405 servers today.

Another example^ my Location ID equal the one that was previously granted to another person which seems was blacklisted later for cheating/abusing, so that number have bad reputation already :(

I have no clue why Location IDs aren't unique.
