Could the lower damages of weapons now lead to better chance of cooperation?

Think about it.

At the low levels near the coast you run into a player. Many would kill outright for their supplies.

Now what if you are not interested in killing the player for supplies but you spot each other in lets say a barn. At this many of you would shoot because this person is an immediate threat. He could just as easily 1-2 hit kill you without you reacting or the other way around.

With the new patch pistols and the enfield have been nerfed and require extra shots to do what they used to do. Now a person has time to react to being shot and even if they die they can still ruin your day with 1-2 shots.

Now instead of you being in extreme danger and your life is in the hands of a single mouse click, it might come to be that someone shooting would result in both parties coming out worse than they came in.

So don't be afraid to try to speak to someone instead of shooting on sight. The only way we can cooperate better is if we hesitate now.

I only do headshots anyways. Doesn't effect me.

It might have a slightly positive effect over time. More likely it'll just make people more accurate. One headshot is still all you need.

@OP: I get where you're going, but no, I don't think so. If there were any value to cooperation with strangers, I'd say yes, but there isn't.

Enfield is still 6750 damage as far as I know, which means that one shot is likely to knock you down.

In theory its nice and encouraging to the cooperation.

But in reality peeps will do what they do and continue to kill other folks.

Just the other day I was in a barn, foreigner ran in, I talked to him, said I dont want to shoot him.

He proceeded towards me (I was on the top floor of barn) so I thought I would ran off but I fell from the stairs and broke my leg.

I told him that I could have shot him with my enfield so that he should stay cool.

Just as I was applying morphine he came to me and hit me with the axe.

Luckily I managed to shot him with enfield (that was after the nerf), he survived, I fell to the coma.

He most likely was a noob,because he did not finish me. Instead he bandaged and probably eat something and by that time I managed to wake up and finish him off with 2nd enfield round.

I survived with approx 1700 of blood and only because he forgot to finish me.

Anyway I tried to be friendly, I could have given him some food but he tried to murder me instead.

Its just that some people treat other folks like dumb NPC's that are in game only for them to murder and steal their sheit.

Oh well, I admit this is wishful thinking.

Still, I do have good luck finding friendly people willing to play with me for a little bit.

This still has no impact on the inland, as the damages for higher level guns are the same.

Maybe for players just recently spawned it might make a difference. For two guys in the NWAF staring each other down, all I have to do is press F make sure im on Full-auto and it doesnt make a difference to me :P

So far most of my successfull cooperation with strangers were near spawn areas (cherno,elektro etc).

Most of them were unarmed, some had an axe and I had gun of some sorts, so maybe some of their friendliness was forced by the fear of their own death.

But still it was atleast some cooperation...up north I basically never encounter friendly player.

I think that up north friendly players either avoid you, or mostly they are not friendly and just shoot you.

I lost count of how many times up there in north I have died without even seing my killer :huh: .

What saddened me most was that time where I encountered 2 players near deerstand. They did not see me and I decided to let them go.

Bad luck was that some 10 minutes laters these dudes found me on outskirts of Novy Sobor and shoot me to death without second doubt.

Now such shit makes friendly players like me pissed off and less likely to be friendly.

disclaimer: There was that time that I shot one dude to back, because I wanted his dirtbike (his friendl Alt+f4 few moments later).

That was an act of banditry, but it was atleast motivated by the need to have their dirtbike,so there was atleast some purpose in that attack.
