Will it run Arma II and DayZ?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and am sadly yet to play DayZ (due to having a woeful laptop). Anyways, I know very little about PC's when it comes to the specs, but I'm looking to pick up a new PC and was wondering if the one in the link below would be able to run it.

Also, any suggestions would also be appreciated and I have a budget of around £500 (don''t fancy putting it together) so If you know of any other PC's, help would be grateful.

The PC:

Cheers :D

Dan.

It's a good setup, what resolution are you aiming to run games at? 1600x900? 1920x1080? 1920x1200?

Yea you'll have no problems with ARMA II and DayZ :)

Also as CrunchyBacon said the FX Processors are unlocked so you can get extra juice out of them CPU's very easily!

My FX-8120 stock was just above the i5-2500k, but overclocked @4Ghz it's pushing into i7-2600k territory within the top 45 CPU's ;)

  • Motherboard is a "Mini ATX" so you only get 2 ram slots, 1 PCI and 1 PCI-E. This limits you to what you can add later.
  • I have that graphics card, it can run the game easily on high settings. There is a guide for graphics settings, e.g. disable certain settings, which will ensure maximum FPS.
  • The PSU is cheap, which is much more likely to surge and destroy every component in the PC. Not a good thing to lose your PC, I have never encountered this but I have always used Corsair, Thermaltake or Cooler Master (the cooler master ones which are sold separately and not included in the cheap desktop case).
  • Ram is the 1333 MHz kind, which is the slowest DDR3. You will not notice it, but people who build gaming PCs use 1600 or 2000 MHz typically.

Will be more than what you need, but it is limited to upgrading later on if that is what you want.
