Target Practice?

Recommended Posts

Jex, if you're a company hoping to go mainstream and get maximum profits you can't possibly expect the majority to accept that they have to learn about how the game works to get it to run. However I am willing to learn but my attempted at googling yielded no fruit. I'm sorry to perk your tail.

Certain things like tinkering with mouse software to get 1:1 movement within games is something I've tinkered with but it was totally of my own intrigue and desire to improve my performance and enjoyment of a game.

Jex, is there some comprehensive source of information that will allow me to learn what I need to know without convoluted explanations and unecessary technical jargon?

Maybe BIS isn't intending to be a mainstream entertainment vendor but with DayZ's release there is a much higher demand for the knowledge or simply a solution to their problems.

Oh Okay, Thanks for clarifying what Vanilla means. However, that is what I've already been trying to do. Running CO results in directx error. DayZ and Arma2 (NOT CO) is fine.

Dafuq?

Um, you can't run DayZ with CO not working. You make no sense bro. Launch Arma 2. Then launch OA. THEN launch CO. When in steam, make sure that the game parameters/properties under OA has nothing in it. no @dayz=mod or whatever.

I promise you, what I speak is what I see. I dont use steam. Arma 2 will load. Operation Arrowhead or combined operations will not. It gives me the Direct 3D error.

It sounds as though you bought arma, go 6 updater, use that to run arma and then when you try and play something else, you bitch because it doesn't work? If ur going to call a game shit because u haven't apprised yourself of the information to play it and then complain about having to learn about the game u want to play i don't really know what to make of that ;)

How many games don't you have to learn to play them. Ever try a flight sim? Or a tank sim? I'm sure things like WoW or Eve require a deal of learning to get good at them.

Arma out the box works fine (now). It has it's really annoying "features" that should have been fixed in Arma 1 but other than that, it works fine. Maybe the mission you downloaded was a fault of the mission creator - not Arma's Fault. Maybe it's ur PC - not arma's fault.

We live in an age now were IT is everywhere and it's about time people realised this and started to learn about the things they buy rather than complaining when they are compeltely ignorant to how technology works these days.

U have a graphics card error - try updating your drivers or reinstall direct x (since there's scant info on what is going wrong, it makes it impossible to want to bother writing any other advice to fix the issue).

Don't know how to do the above - use goggle :)

Regardless of whether you bought arma for Dayz, it is a military shooter and has a campaign - that's what u bought - that's what they made and it works. Once you start adding 3rd party mods onto that game, you're on your own and as for Dayz staying with Arma - I really fucking hope not because the Arma engine is shit for it (e.g. Oh i'm knocked out...oh i'm standing back up and I'm pulling out an invisible rifle...nope I'm putting that away and now going for my invisible rocket launcher...nope i'm going to put that back too...ahh finally my FUCKING PISTOL..the ONLY weapon I ha...arrrghhh i got eaten....and that shit has been going on since OFP - yeah over 10 years)
