Continually lagging out? No message received for *** seconds

Well, I expected I would need quite a bit of patience to play this for various reasons. The install was simple enough for me, but this is getting to the 10th time I have waiting on loading screens to join a server and have gotten in three times. Once to get immediately sniped by someone, and two other times to 'lag out'?

This is starting to push my patience, just saying, this is very, very annoying! I found someone with a flare in a night server and was going to them (very excited!) and then I get the 'no message received for 20 seconds' and now it's up to 200 seconds probably.

I know it is not a problem on my end, so is this just to be expected? Did I do something wrong? Is this common?

I've asked some people in game and this error appears to just be a server problem?
