Going to buy a PC to play this - help please

Recommended Posts

EDIT: JESUS! A customer review for that i7-3960X said he got it up to 6.2Ghz on air!! The score for that CPU is already at 14,082!

Overclocking that thing to 6.2Ghz...

Yup... O.O

The spec of the kit that amazon list will work perfectly, if the companies are any good. I spent two grand on my kit and it's no much better.

That's the annoying part, you spend say £1000 on a nice high-end gaming rig, 1-2 years later a friend wants one too... it'll only cost him about £450 for the same kind of power.

That's why I didn't spend TOO much on mine so it doesn't devalue as much.

I would also advise getting a system from overclockers,

ive ordered stuff from them for years and never had a problem, 2 friends have also bought systems off them that run really well an i3 and an i7 system.

HOWEVER

Please be aware that you are buying a system not a full pc setup on all of the linked computers you will need to get a mouse and keyboard, speaker and monitor unless your planning on running it via your TV since all new gfx cards have hdmi out. Just wanna make sure you dont spend your budget just to find bits missing you will also want to check what os is installed.

GL and enjoy pc gaming it beats the crap out of consoles everyday all day

Yeah over 6 years I have spent almost £3,000 which I think is good going, as if it was pre-build the repair costs would of been double that :D

Expensive but worth it ^^

Dude, I was in the same boat as you 9 months ago. Needed/wanted a pc and had no idea. Everyone said, build your own, and Im like, no f way...I had no idea. Now, I have a super pc I built myself by trolling tech sites and youtube. there are so many nerds out there waiting to impart their unique knowlege to you, trust me when i say, you can do this, you want this and you are going to build your own. Its like lego for grown ups. And afterwards, you know a little more about how it all works. YOu can customise, modify to your hearts content. I know people where they spend more time modifying their system than playing on it. You know who you are.So I went with this, and Im pretty proud of it, because, well, it didnt blow up the first time i turned it on.

Mobo-Asus P8z-77-V

CPU- i5 3750K

GPU-Nvidia EVGA GTX680 Superclocked.

PSU-Corsair AX750

RAM-Corsair 8GB Vengeance

HDD-1TB WD Blue

SSD-OCZ Vertex 4 128GB

Case-Bit Finex Colossus

KB and Mouse-Razer

Monitor-Dell 24"

So all together, it cost me quite alot, and you if I had bought a pc pre-built with these components it would have cost me alot more. Soooo, you can save some money.

Ok, so I went overkill and I dont care. You dont need to spend so much, but definetly look into building your own. The benefits FAR out weigh the cons on this one. Hope to see you online, on your self built pc.
