Would anyone mind looking over a basic build that i literally just finished.

I used my same power supply that i had because he didnt really need a crazy one.

I can post all the parts.

he was mainly looking to play average games at medium quality. Like mw3, dayz, skyrim. etc.

That'll be able to handle Medium-High gaming no problem, except the Seagate Barracuda Green didn't score too high on the HDD Benchmark chart.

Well he gave me 500$. And thats what i could do with it for his requirements. I think it should be an alright base setup. I told him he didnt need an i5. so over rated. and ill never buy an amd

Went brain-dead and quoted myself for some reason :P

I found another HDD for the same price but twice the performance of the Seagate Barracuda Green:

Apart from that I'd say a pretty nice build.

Yeah it seems like an ok system, medium-sih games? might struggles on higher games e.g. crysis :P

Maybe think about going for an i5 instead of i3? extra $80 I know but worth it...

Also do you need 1.5Tb H/Drive? it isn't a highly recommended one for the prices tbh :/

Maybe it's just my snobby "everything must be amazing for pc gaming" attitude speaking lol :P

Still good though for a basic set up :)

The i3-2120 scored 4221 on PerformanceTest which is really good for an i3, plus most things like gaming are more GPU-dependable. :)

Yeah i heard that the i3 was pretty good. I myself am pushing an i5. But this thing was pretty close to mine for half the price :X

This i3 overclocked would put my i5 to shame...>.>

My FX-8120 puts an i5-2500k to shame :)

Sorry i just dont have a huge thing for amd .-.

I just don't see what people have against them, they are extremely good for the price you pay.

Yeah re-reading it I have to agree, unless you willing to spend $100's more then stick with that then :D

Eventually get yourself and i7 and you will be set.

I will be getting this after Christmas if my CPU holds out that long (2 years and still strong!)

Yeah AMD are good and I have had them in the past, I just find intel are more reliable and much better for over clocking, and there isn't much prices difference tbh.

The i7-2700k is just a smidgen above my FX-8120 ;)

Oh and the i7-3960X... that's just other worldly B)

EDIT: JESUS! A customer review for that i7-3960X said he got it up to 6.2Ghz on air!! The score for that CPU is already at 14,082!

Overclocking that thing to 6.2Ghz...

That smidgen could mean the difference between life and death ;)

And yeah...

Now opening the "help AJ buy an i7-3960X processor fund" all cash donations accepted...

:D
