Going to buy a PC to play this - help please

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I love the look of this game and am going to buy a PC to play it. I don't want to build a PC and am instead going to buy a pre-built system.

I searched Amazon for 'gaming pc' and found this link:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=gaming+pc&x=0&y=0

Would one of those do the trick for this game, or is it more complicated than that?

Apologies - I've no idea about PC gaming. If someone could post a link to a pre-built PC I could but I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Tom

£500 - £600 ideally but could possibly stretch to more as I would like to play other PC games too.

Thanks!

You looking to buy pre-built or can you build up yourself?

You can build a nice little machine with that budget if you build it yourself. If you bought pre-built you'd end up spending about £800 for essentially the same system.

First, building a pc is far easier then you imagine. Everyone can do it. As far as I know there are some hardware stores, at least I know a german one, that build your pc for 20$. So you can choose all the parts you want and they will build it for you instead of just sending you the parts. I'm sure there is such an online store in the UK, if someone could name one we could give you a decent one.

Thing is, you can buy cheap pcs like that, they try to impress you with their numbers on how much GHZ they have and so on... But most of the time, the parts people don't know about as much like the mainboard, power supply and so on are cheap shit that I would not trust or use and you oftentimes have some bottleneck that could be chosen more efficient if you build it yourself / let the hardware store build it for you for 20$.

Wow, thanks very much for the help guys. Yeah, the idea of building a PC is a scary one I'm afraid. I'll go research the links.

I saw some videos of this game and I'm dying to play it.

Thanks again

Everyone is scared when they build their first pc. I built my first one at 11, and i dont exactly remember being over worried. It was 6 years ago. But yeah. Trust me when i tell you building it is so much better man you gotta trust me. Building a computer is piss easy. No worries just take your time

Yeah, I remember my first couple "attempts" at building PC's I must have blown up about 6 MOBO's, PSU, burnt singed and electrocuted myself...

All worth it in the end and a good skill to learn if you want to avoid nasty repair bills :)

No, which is surprising actually, the FX-8120 is a very power-thirsty CPU and along with an XFX 6850... I do kinda feel sorry for my PSU :P
