How do I go into 3rd person view?

Just got Day Z working. :D

I got a few newbie questions:

1) How do I go into 3rd person view?

2) How do I pick up items / weapons?

3) How do I switch weapons?

4) Why can't anybody see my chat messages?

1) check your keybindings (generally it's enter on the numpad)

2) depends on the item but generally just be near it, look at it and press G to open your inventory or enter if it gives you the option.

3) use the scroll wheel to select weapons or the number keys

4) make sure you're in the right channel, check your key bindings to see how to switch between those.

Go do boot camp. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete basic training.

Tutorials/Boot camp of Arma 2 or OA. You'll learn all the basics there. It's really a must for new players.

Just a note, 3rd person needs a server that allows it. If you hit numpad enter and don't go 3rd, then you're on a server that locks it
