SynisterSilence 5 Posted August 2, 2012 Hi. I've read around a lot and it looks like there's a lot of people hating on this mod and it's developers.I'd just like to say this mod is amazing and has AMAZING potential. I can't wait for new updates on the game. :)Once it's completed I can see it being the best zombie game of all time, because it's the zombie game everyone has ever wanted EVER. I really hope the developers continue on with it through Arma 2 and into Arma 3. It'd also be really neat if the Arma 3 guys took notice and hired them on! :D Or perhaps were given the chance to make Day Z a game of it's own.Anyway... great job guys!P.S. Maybe because of the rise in popularity of Arma 2 because Day Z, the Arma 2 guys will optimize and patch the game a little bit.
LunaTiK (DayZ) 45 Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) We know you mean well. Right guys?http://www.arma2.com/home_en.html ARMA 2: COMBINED OPERATIONS / OPERATION ARROWHEAD / REINFORCEMENTS UPDATE 1.62 As part of our continuous support, we released a new patch for the award-winning tactical military shooter, Arma 2. Patch 1.62 brings a lot of fixes to multiplayer, which – aside for the largescale military battles – will also make zombie hunts much less prone to crashes and should improve server stability. The other highlights of version 1.62 are:I'm not completely positive that this mod will see huge updates to the core game. I would think if something would be to happen it would happen with a standalone game. I'm kinda feeling like we may get an official statement some day soon. FrankFisher 46 Posted August 2, 2012 Who knows what the has to come for the DayZ franchise, they may get Rocket and his team to work on it for ARMA 3 or by that time he'll have his own standalone game. Whatever happens it'll still be an awesome mod <3

schwifty 22 Posted August 2, 2012 They might not put too much more work into Arma 2 other than optimising the multiplayer abilities to handle the higher demand brought from the increase in players from DayZ becaaaaause Arma 3 is almost ready. They aren't even putting anymore money into Take on Helicopters (which is a newer ranchise made as the base for the arma 3, super realistic flight model rumor says) until Arma 3 is out.I did hear of a contract for Rocket to develop DayZ as its own game, not 100% on it though.

My friend was talking about the Arma 3 Day-Z rumors and it got me pretty hyped. Just not only the improvements over Arma 2's graphics, tools, etc. But also the thing you can do... he said he heard about being able to build stuff like forts and whatnot. A clan mate watched an interview with Ivan i think and he said it didnt sound as awesome as previously thought. The mission editor is the same they've been using for 10 years from OFP, they toned down the ability to switch uniforms because it is against the geneva convention and a few other things.
