Just lost my Alice pack/items from dropping it?

So there was a vest on the ground and because it said vest I finally wanted to find out if it meant additional space or just another backpack. So once I equipped the new bag, my alice bag disappeared along with all the items inside...can anyone confirm this or know if i go back into that server it will be there?

I figured the alice bag would go on the floor, but it didnt.

Yes, I can confirm.

Very often, dropped items will disappear. It seems LESS likely if you use an established "loot spawn point". But I've lost plenty of backpacks by dropping them.

Sometimes it is placed "Inside" the ground, which means they are pretty much impossible to see/using. I have also seen them appear 50meters off in a random direction.

somtimes it's not really disappeared if you relog it will show up occasionally..

bags have a bug which causes them to be invisible for their owner after he drops it on the ground but other people can see it

also you could have checked dayzdb or dayzwiki for information on the vest pouch.. loot bugs are quite common so it is wiser to check any item there before swapping it for whatever you currently have
