jarf (DayZ)

I just installed Dayz and need help with visual settings

Recommended Posts

Hi I just bought Arma 2 CO today to play Dayz. Dayz is working fine and I can join servers. I am wondering though how to make it windowed mode. I tried going into six launcher and putting additional startup parameters like -window -height 1366 -width 768 but that didn't work. Also how can I improve my FPS? It seems to get a bit low at times and I have a decent PC. My specs are AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4ghz quad, GIGABYTE Radeon 6850 1gb, and i have 8gb of ram 1666 speed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

I really dont recomend windowed mod in day z due to the high attention you have to spend from getting yourself killed, but.

You can enable windowed mode in settings. to get to this:

1) Start six lanuncher

2) dont select a server (just hit play)

3) Arma 2 will be up (go to settings)

4) windowed mode will be an option

5) select the server you want from the Multiplayer Tab

I recommend Advanced system care (free program) to help speed up/ clean your computer of unnecessarily files/ data. it also has a "Boost" feature which shuts down tasks that are not needed while you play the game, this of course needs to be setup. also i recomnd running a defrag on your hard drive, that may increase your frames.

Config File suggested FPS Fix...

More Startup Parameters to try here.,..

-cpuCount=<number> Change to a number less or equal than numbers of available cores. This will override auto detection. Details below.

-exThreads=<number>

Change to a number 0,1,3,5,7. This will override auto detection (which use 3 for dualcore and 7 for quadcore). Details below.
